What are Superior Societies?

The philosophy of societies at Superior University is built upon the conviction that our students possess not only academic excellence but also emotional intelligence, which is crucial for their success both locally and globally. We understand that in today’s globalized world, effective communication, collaboration, and leadership skills are essential, and EQ competencies are necessary to cultivate these skills. Our societies are dedicated to empowering our students with the requisite EQ competencies that will enable them to excel in their personal and professional lives. 

How to become a Society Member?

Superior societies offer opportunities for skill development and talent showcasing at a university-wide level. Students can join societies aligned with their interests by completing the registration process. Once registered, members collectively elect a society president. Superior societies provide you with a platform to develop your skills and showcase your talents on a university wide level. These societies are designed to enhance the academic and personal development of students by creating opportunities for experiential learning, collaboration, and skill building activities. Superior societies are also aimed at promoting interdisciplinary harmony and collaboration among students from different academic disciplines, thereby providing you with a platform to develop a broader range of skills and knowledge. Furthermore, these societies facilitate partnerships and collaborations with other universities’ student bodies and industrial linkages, creating a dynamic learning environment for you that foster innovation and growth. Overall, the primary reason for the existence of Superior societies is to enhance your overall student experience by providing a range of opportunities for personal and professional growth, skill building, and showcasing talents on a university wide level.

Becoming a member of Superior Societies in university can be beneficial in multifarious academic and professional arenas like skill enhancement, reward and recognition and professional growth.

Skill Enhancement

You will get to chance to amplify your EQ (Emotional Intelligence) with an emphasis on relationship building capabilities, and a balance between learning work and life balance. These societies provide opportunities for individuals to engage in activities that align with their interests and passions. These skills will prepare you to navigate organizational protocols and succeed in any professional setting.

Presidential Election Process

The Office of Engagement & Co-creation (OEC) will announce the society’s presidential election and provide the opportunity profile of the president (see
Appendix-9s).

All eligible society members are allowed to nominate themselves for the elections. They need to submit their Presidential Nomination Form (see Appendix-10s) and Manifesto according to the given guidelines (see Appendix-11s) along with preferred
nomination symbols (see Appendix-12s) to their respective Advisors.

The advisor will email the names to the Office of Engagement & Co-creation (OEC).

The advisor and External Interviewer will conduct interviews of the eligible candidates (see Appendix-13s). Interview scores have a 40% weightage in the result.

The Office of Engagement & Co-creation (OEC) will notify the
Advisors via email.

The Office of Engagement & Co-creation (OEC) will announce the election schedule with the published code of conduct for the election campaign and polling
day (see Appendix-14s).

Election candidates will campaign for one week within the campus in
compliance with the issued code of conduct (see Appendix-14s).

The Office of Engagement & Co-creation (OEC) will make all the
necessary logistical and human resource arrangements to carry out the election smoothly.

Polling will be carried out in compliance with the issued code of conduct (see Appendix-14s).

Counting will take place in the Office of Engagement & Co-creation (OEC) under the supervision of the Presiding officer in the presence of all the Society
Advisors.

The Rector will announce the result.

Notification will be issued by the Office of Engagement & Co-creation (OEC) via email (see Appendix-15s).
